Programs Hosted by the PTA

8th Grade Party This is a fantastic celebration for the soon-to-promote students near the end of the year. This year’s event will take place at the CSULB student union game room, and boasts activities such as dancing, bowling, billiards, a photo booth, candy bar, fun dinner options, and more.

8th Grade Promotion Hospitality Students receive awards and recognition and formally transition to being a high school student at this bittersweet, milestone event. Refreshments are typically provided afterward. Volunteers help with purchase, set up and staffing.   6th and 7th grade families are needed to assist with Promotion Day.

Career Day Career Day provides an opportunity for students to meet professionals and explore their career interests. This year, 29 speakers participated in a job-fair like Career Day in Mustang Park. All Rogers students were able to meet with three speakers in career areas in which they expressed interest.

Dining for Dollars Are you a foodie or know some great local restaurants that might want to help Rogers host a Dining for Dollars night?  The PTA partners with local restaurants throughout the year.  Our Mustang community eats at or orders take out from the restaurant, giving a percentage of sales back to PTA.  Look for flyers posted to the PTA website and Social Media channels, announcements from Rogers weekly bulletins and Principal’s Monday Morning Messages.  Please note some businesses require you to print, show it on your mobile phone or bring in the flyer to earn dining credit.

Lunches on the Lawn Two times per year, parents are invited to pack and bring a picnic lunch to the front lawn of campus to eat with their student(s). PTA helps to coordinate these special events. Keep an eye on school communications for the program event dates!

Movie Nights Twice a year, the PTA hosts a movie night outside in Mustang Park for all Mustangs and their families to enjoy!  This year, Mustangs will watch Elf! and Star Wars: A New Hope while enjoying fun times with family and friends.

Mustang Drive Fundraiser and Student Activity Day The Mustang Drive is Rogers PTA’s biggest fundraiser and culminates in a student field day.

Parent Education PTA works to bring different speakers to the general association meetings. Speakers will cover topics relevant to middle schoolers and their families. If you have any suggestions for a parent education topic, send a message to info@rogersmiddleschoolpta.com.

Parents Night Out Party The PTA hosts a fundraiser gala night out for parents, to build community and raise money for Rogers Middle School activities.  This year’s event included a silent auction, poker tournament, selfie booth and more!

Reflections PTA Reflections is an arts competition for all students. Students can do anything from compose music to paint a picture, and have the chance of going on to regionals and further.

Staff Appreciation Week Rogers dedicates one week every Spring to show our teachers and staff just how much they’re worth … a whole lot! From a special breakfast to snack baskets and other treats, teachers and staff are the star.

Staff Luncheons We all know how hard our teachers work, so in addition to TA Week, three (3) times a year the PTA hosts a luncheon for our amazing staff and faculty! Volunteers host by serving and helping with set-up/clean-up for each event.

Other Ways PTA Helps

Activity Days Students participate in many fun activities throughout the year while the PTA helps with many aspects of the event day, such as food, snacks, and treats.

VIPS (Volunteers In Public Schools) This program allows parents to register and then come help out teachers with whatever they need and to assist on campus during PTA activity days and program events. VIPS are also eligible to chaperone field trips.  You can learn more HERE.

Select Other Programs Funded by the PTA

Jeopardy! Tournament PTA funding brought the Student Jeopardy competition to campus on January 24-26, 2023! All students take a “screener” exam in one of their classes, and the top students then participate in grade-level heats to whittle the contest pool down to the top three students per grade level. Each grade champion participates in an all-school competition, where that champion then goes onto an all-District contest! A mix of general trivia and other school subject questions are asked.

WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) During Taking Care of Business (TCB) days, 8th Grade students are invited to apply and a select group chosen to be WEB leaders for the 6th Graders during a campus tour and getting to know you games before the school year starts. These WEB student leaders also remain dedicated to being an ongoing resource for the incoming 6th grade and other new students at Rogers for the duration of the school year. PTA funds this program, while our dedicated teacher liaisons, Ms. Bolger, Ms. Klements and Ms. Elsworth actively run the program with our students. PTA loves our WEB Program!
